This CLE focuses on two main point: Debt Defense and Bankruptcy. The first hour focuses on identifying the legal issues and barriers surrounding debt for low-income communities. Topics covered include responding to lawsuits; rights as a consumer; and garnishment. The second hour focuses on the basics of Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcies, as they relate to low-income debtors.
